PROFESSIONAL-IN-RESIDENCE

THE PROFESSIONAL-IN-RESIDENCE (PIR) PROGRAM CONNECTS UH STUDENTS AND FACULTY WITH LOCAL BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS.

PACE is pleased to host volunteer mentors each semester. These volunteers have varying professional experiences and deep knowledge in their areas of expertise. They genuinely enjoy helping students achieve their new venture goals and unique career aspirations.

  • PIRs rotate each week, and hold office hours on the UH Manoa campus.

  • PIRs have expertise in one or more of the following areas: business, entrepreneurship, law, intellectual property, marketing, finance or venture funding.

  • PIRs offer practical knowledge and advice on specific entrepreneurial issues.

  • Appointments are required. Inclusion of specific questions or details about the desired outcome of the meeting in the appointment form is helpful.

  • PIRs donate their time and knowledge to this program. They do not receive compensation for their service.

UH Law Clinic
UH William S. Richardson School of Law Entrepreneurship and Small Business Clinic
The Clinic offers business law services including Business formation, including limited liability companies and corporations, Nonprofit formations, including assistance with the application for exempt status, Trademark applications, Business contract preparation and review, Website terms of use and privacy policies, and Legal analysis of business law issues. The pro bono work performed will be under the supervision of Clinic instructor Greg Kim, a licensed attorney who specializes in business law.
