ABOUT RYAN CHING
Ryan Ching is the visionary behind Ry’s Poke Shack, a North Shore Oahu gem redefining poke with creative, made-to-order dishes like Cajun Dynamite (Cajun-style poke), Nightmarcher (reaper garlic sauce), and Lao-Style Poke (inspired by Lao jeow som sauce). Despite early struggles, including a 1.6 GPA in high school, Ryan turned his life around, earning a doctorate in architecture from the University of Hawai’i with a 3.6 GPA. During the pandemic, he left architecture to pursue his passion, launching Ry’s Poke Shack. The venture quickly grew, grossing over $500K in its first year and earning a feature on Netflix’s Street Food: USA. Today, Ryan focuses on family, travel, and uplifting his community.
